The DHT is a civil exercise, we are testing the dogs courage to stand and perform a civil display towards a forward moving aggressor.

EQUIPMENT:

• 4 - 6ft leash

• Choke chain or fur saver attached to the dead ring only.

• Agitation collar

• Agitation Harness

• Agitation Muzzle (level 1 - 3)

• Absolutely NO prong collars allowed

• This is a pass/fail, civil exercise

• Dogs need to pass levels in succession, starting with the intro level, before moving up in levels.

• There are no prerequisites to enter the DHT Intro.

Ideal picture is the dog at the front of the line fighting towards the aggressor.  A tight line should be visible, and constant vigilance by the dog to "protect" the handler.

 

All handlers will be instructed to have a 4ft - 6ft leash attached to their fursaver and agitation collar while the backtie is attached to their agitation harness.  This is solely for safety purposes incase of failed equipment.

A dog who displays fear, backing up, darting forward and back or any aggression towards handler, the exercise will be stopped immediately resulting in a failed test.

**If dog will not engage with Helper or backs down from the pressure, it is an automatic fail.**
